PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
This self-locking thread repair insert restores stripped or damaged 3/8-16 threads in metal parts. It installs into a drilled and tapped hole and gives the part a fresh 3/8-16 internal thread, so the original bolt size can be used again.
The insert is made of 12L14 steel with a black phosphate finish. It has a 1/2-13 external thread with a 2A fit and a 3/8-16 internal thread with a 2B fit, both coarse and right hand. Prepare the hole with a 29/64 drill bit and a 1/2-13 tap; the maximum hole diameter is 0.453 in and the minimum installation depth is 9/16 in. The insert diameter is 1/2 in and the overall length is 1/2 in, in inch measurements.
