PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
This thread repair kit restores stripped or damaged 7/16-14 threads in metal parts using self-locking steel thread inserts. Each insert threads into an enlarged, retapped hole and provides a fresh 7/16-14 internal thread, so a worn hole can take its original bolt again.
The inserts are 12L14 steel with a black phosphate finish, 9/16 in in diameter and 9/16 in long. Installation calls for a 33/64 drill bit, with a maximum hole diameter of 0.516 in, and a 9/16-12 tap for the 9/16-12 external thread, which has a 2A fit. The internal thread is coarse, right hand, with a 2B fit. A minimum installation depth of 5/8 in is required. Dimensions follow the inch system of measurement.
